STC'14 (Sport Tourism Conference 2014) - Sport Tourism: New Challenges in a Globalized World - (www.esec.pt/stc2014) has an open call for papers, with deadline extended by June 15, 2014.

STC'14 will be held in Coimbra, Portugal, from 10th-12th December 2014, at Coimbra College of Education.

We hope that you can participate in this congress by submitting a paper reflecting your current research in one of the following areas:

- Sport Tourism Policies and Development

- Sport Tourism Environmental, Economic and Social Impacts

- Sport Tourism, Innovation and Competitiveness

- Sport Tourism Supply and Demand Issues

- Sport Tourism Events

- Sport Tourism History

- Sport Tourism Management

- Sport Tourism and New Consumption Spaces

- New Trends in Sport Tourism

All the papers accepted and presented at STC'14 will be published in the conference proceedings e-book (with ISBN: 978-989-98016-4-6), and in the abstracts book (ISBN: 978-989-98016-3-9). Moreover, we are planning to publish suitable papers in different formats, such as in a book of international publishers, and a special edition in one international journal, with reference for the presented topics.

 Please also note the following deadlines:

- Submission of proposals (maximum of 500 words): by 15 June 2014.

- Notification of accepted proposals: by 15 July 2014.

- Regular registration: by 20th July 2014.

- Submission of final paper (maximum 15 pages): until 15 September 2014.

- Late registration: by 15th September 2014.

- Scientific committee comments: will be sent to the authors until 15th October 2014.

- Revised versions: will be submitted no later than 30th October 2014.

The second Interdisciplinary Insights on Fraud and Corruption (I2FC 2014) conference aims to bring together researchers, academics and practitioners from different backgrounds to exchange and share their experiences, ideas, and research results about all aspects of the shadow economy, and discuss the challenges in this field and policies adopted. We invite the submission of theoretical, applied, or policy-oriented research papers that focus on any aspect of the shadow economy to our conference.

The conference topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

-           tax evasion

-           money laundering

-           informal labour market

-           theoretical and empirical models of underground economy

-           social cohesion, norms and ethics 

-           perceptions, and expectations in the shadow economy

-           corruption, fraud and organized crime

This conference is organized by OBEGEF (Observatory of Fraud in Economics and Management). It will be held in Porto, Portugal, Faculdade de Economia do Porto, November 22, 2014.

For your information, one of our Keynote Speakers is a representative from United Nations, Professor Dr. Shahbaz Khan, the Deputy Director of UNESCO Regional Bureau for Sciences in Asia and the Pacific.

Retail International Conference, Braga, Portugal 

”The future of retailing: from local challenges to global opportunities”

The Retail International Conference, http://www3.eeg.uminho.pt/acb2014/, under the title The future of retailing: from local challenges to global opportunities is to be jointly organised by the University of Minho and the Chamber of Commerce of Braga.  It will be convened in 19-20 September 2014, venue GNRation, in Braga. It is a unique event which brings together academics and professionals, whilst envisaging to give special emphasis to the major challenges that commerce faces, as well as the role this sector plays on the agenda of the sustained economic and social growth in Portugal and in Europe.

In order to make this event as comprehensive as possible, its thematic component focus upon the context of the ongoing  strong economic restructuring in Portugal and in Europe, taking into account the growing need for adaptation of the economic agents, in particular, as regards the use of Information and Communication Technologies, Innovation and Modernisation and Consumer Trends.

"Call for Papers: V Workshop on Economics of Education: Lifelong Learning Policies & Strategies"

«The formation of human capital, essential for economic growth, does not depend exclusively on the formal education system aimed at young people. Lifelong learning and, in particular, continuous training and training for the unemployed, is a factor that has been identified as crucial, for example in PIAAC (OECD), in defining the competences of the adult population. These competences generate, in turn, a wide range of monetary and non-monetary benefits for individuals and societies. In this context, the workshop aims at analysing a diversity of aspects related to lifelong learning, as its distribution, barriers to access, efficiency in production, funding and evaluation of its policies and programs.

The V Workshop on Economics of Education will take place in the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Barcelona on the 16th and 17th September 2014.

The keynotes speakers will be:

"Divulgação preliminar do X Colóquio Ibérico de Estudos Rurais (CIER), Palencia, Espanha, 16 e 17 de Outubro de 2014"

Junto se envia a informação preliminar do X CIER que este ano terá lugar em Palencia, Espanha (universidade de Valladolid) entre 16 e 17 de Outubro, com o tema genérico “Territórios Rurais, Agriculturas Locais e Cadeias Alimentares". 

 

Chamamos a atenção para o facto de a SPER, para além da Associação Espanhola de Economistas Agrários (AEEA), se associar agora, na organização deste CIER (e futuros) ao Grupo de Sociologia Rural da Federação Espanhola de Sociologia (FES), ao Grupo de Sociologia da Alimentação da FES, à Associação de Geógrafos Espanhóis (AGE) e à Sociedade Espanhola de História Agrária (SEHA), o que converte o CIER definitivamente num congresso disciplinar de referência no domínio dos estudos rurais em Espanha e em Portugal e o que reflecte o trabalho da SPER e da AEEA no alargamento das suas relações com outras associações de estudiosos das questões rurais.

"2nd Call for the 2nd International Conference on Marketing and Business Development (MBD 2014)"

«This is the 2^nd Call for papers for the 2^nd International Conference on Marketing and Business Development, hosted by the Marketing School from Bucharest University of Economic Studies, on 26^th-28^th June 2014.

This call will close on 16th of March 2014.

The conference is designed to facilitate the communication within a worldwide community of marketing and business specialists. The event aims to become a scientific forum to discuss the state of the art, innovative strategies, new researches and recent marketing developments in the context of the latest changes in global business environment.

Accepted and presented papers will be published, with authors’ acceptance, in The International Journal of Economic Practices and Theories e-ISSN 2247–7225. Articles from MBD Conference 2013 are available at http://www.ijept.org/index.php/ijept/issue/view/12.
