"11th EBES Conference": extended abstract submission deadline

«Dear Colleague,

 

On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to invite you to participate in the 11th EBES Conference, in Ekaterinburg, Russia, which will bring together many distinguished researchers from all over the world. Participants will find opportunities for presenting new research, exchanging information, and discussing current issues.

 

Although we focus on Europe and Asia, all papers from major economics, finance, and business fields - theoretical or empirical - are highly encouraged. Qualified papers will be published in the EBES journals (Eurasian Business Review and Eurasian Economic Review) and EBES 2013 Anthology. Also submitted full papers will be included in the conference proceeding CD and will be sent to Thomson Reuters in order to be reviewed for coverage in its Conference Proceedings Citation Index.

CALL FOR PAPERS: Iberian International Business Conference

«Iberian International Business Conference, Braga, 4 and 5 of October

Deadline for submissions – July 31st

We are inviting all to participate in the 9th Iberian International Business Conference, in Braga, 4 and 5 of October of 2013. We aim at bringing together Portuguese and Spanish scholars actively researching in topics related to Foreign Direct Investment, International Trade, Firm Internationalization and International Management.

As in earlier IIBC Conferences, this event is a privileged forum to discuss recent work done by researchers in the interdisciplinary areas of International Business, International Entrepreneurship, International Marketing, International Trade strategies, International Finance, International Production and Operations and International Management. Papers do not have to be focused on the cases of Portugal and Spain only, although these are welcome.

The next 9th IIBC meeting will take place in Braga, Portugal, hosted by NIPE and the School of Economics and Management from University of Minho, with the main theme “Globalization of Iberian Firms in a Challenging World”.

«Caros Colegas,

O Círculo Ibérico de Economia Empresarial (CIBECEM) e a Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD) através do Departamento de Economia, Sociologia e Gestão (DESG) e do Centro de Estudos Transdisciplinares para o Desenvolvimento (CETRAD) vão realizar em Vila Real, nos dias 7 e 8 de Novembro de 2013, o XV Seminário Luso-Espanhol de Economia Empresarial, cujo tema proposto é “O Papel das Organizações na Sustentabilidade das Economias em Crise”.

Não podia ser mais atual o tema escolhido para este Seminário. A economia europeia (em geral) e as da península ibérica (em particular) estão numa encruzilhada, enfrentando crises marcadas por níveis de desemprego sem precedentes desde a crise de 1979-83 e por uma crescente exclusão social. Parece que as políticas de austeridade têm vindo a contribuir mais para a desestabilização social do que para a recuperação económica. É neste contexto, que os nossos territórios são permanentemente desafiados a promover a sua competitividade, num mundo instável e diferenciadamente globalizado. Organizações de todo tipo, desde empresas do sector privado até entidades públicas e do terceiro sector, com formas de gestão cada vez mais empresariais, funcionando em contextos territoriais e de mercado muito heterogéneos, desde o mais local até o mais global, procuram construir, não apenas a sua competitividade, mas também adotar modelos de gestão e governação inovadoras, dotados de maior transparência, participação e responsabilidade, capazes de contribuir para um futuro socioeconómico mais inclusivo e sustentável.

Profissionais e académicos da área da gestão e da economia da empresa, envolvidos nas empresas, na administração público e no 3º sector, estão convidados para participar no Seminário, e para partilhar as suas experiências como praticantes e investigadores, consultores e decisores. "13th CNES (Portuguese National Conference on Health Economics)"

«Dear colleagues,

In October, the 13th CNES (Portuguese National Conference on Health Economics) will take place in Braga.

Although Portuguese is the conference's official language, plenary sessions are very likely to take place in English and there will always be a parallel session in English.

All information regarding the 13th CNES Conference may be found at 13th CNES at http://13cnes.apes.pt/.

Note that the deadline for the submission of abstracts to the 13th CNES  will be extended until May, 31st. Information on the acceptance for poster/oral communications will take place by June 19th.

As usual, there will be special fees for APES (Portuguese Association of Health Economics) members. There are also scholarships available to support the participation of younger researchers. III International Congress on Tourism ESG/IPCA

Tourism Management: Tradition, Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The Management School of the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave, located in Barcelos, Portugal, is promoting the third International Congress on Tourism. The Congress will take place on the 18th and 19th of October 2013 in Barcelos under the main theme Tourism Management: Tradition, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

The main reason for the promotion of the International Congress on Tourism 2013 relates to the preponderance that tourism has on the economy and society of many countries. Its enormous contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the employment rate in an international dimension is obvious, making tourism a strategic priority axis.

In this context, the main goal of the International Congress on Tourism 2013 is to analyze factors that influence the development of tourism activities. Some examples are the tradition regarding the historical and cultural heritage of a country and the innovation enhanced by the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), which allow considerable gains in the productivity of enterprises and entrepreneurial actions.

Thus, the International Congress on Tourism 2013 aims to contribute to the dissemination of good research practices within the tourism management.
