"Cultural Diplomacy in Africa - Africa and the Global Economy: Creating Opportunities and Development Strategies (17th - 23rd January, 2010)"

«I am writing to announce the dates of two complementary programs being organised by the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy in January 2010. We appreciate your support and assistance in spreading the word about this great opportunity and would be grateful if you could forward this information on to any individuals who you feel may be interested in attending these programs.

Cultural Diplomacy in Africa: A Forum for Young Leaders” (CDA) is an active network of young leaders from across the world, who conduct activity to strengthen intra-African relations and the relations of Africa with other continents. Members join the forum by taking part in an CDA Weeklong Seminar. The forthcoming CDA Weeklong Seminar will be held in Berlin from 17th – 23rd January 2010 and will have as a theme “Africa and the Global Economy: Creating Opportunities and Development Strategies”. The program will consist of lectures, workshops, seminars, as well as cultural and social activities. During the last three days of the program participants will take part in “The Rise of Africa: An International Conference on New Strategies and Approaches to Governance and Sustainable Development in Africa”.

The Rise of Africa: An International Conference on New Strategies and Approaches to Governance and Sustainable Development in Africa” is an international conference for students, young professionals, economists, diplomatic and political representatives, and civil society practitioners from across the world. “The Rise of Africa” will take place in Berlin from 21st – 23rd January 2010 and will consist of speeches and panel discussions by leading figures from the fields of politics, diplomacy, civil society, academia, and the private sector. Speakers will explore the range of new ideas and initiatives being developed and implemented in support of African development, and to assess the challenges and opportunities they will bring for African leaders and the continent as a whole. The program will aim to set a new pace in the development of Africa and its role in the world economy.
